Advancing African-European Science-Policy Dialogue in Brussels<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The FrontAg Nexus project proudly participated in the \u201cCooperation Lounge Africa-Europe: Science Meets Politics\u201d event held on December 10\u201311, 2024, in Brussels. Hosted by the Scientific Coordination Office (WKS) Bavaria-Africa at BayFOR in collaboration with the Representation of the Free State of Bavaria to the European Union, this dynamic gathering brought together a wide spectrum of stakeholders to promote African-European research and innovation partnerships.<\/p>

Participants included representatives from academic and research institutions, the private sector, civil society, foundations, and political entities from both Africa and Europe. Through collaborative dialogue, the event aimed to address the challenges and opportunities inherent in fostering international research cooperation, with a particular focus on Bavaria, Europe, and Africa.<\/p>

The event highlighted the importance of bridging the gap between science and policy\u2014a task that demands active collaboration across diverse sectors. A high-level networking evening on December 10 provided a unique opportunity for participants to exchange ideas and explore the role of science diplomacy in promoting African-European collaboration. Complementing the networking sessions, a poster exhibition showcased ongoing research initiatives. The FrontAg Nexus project was represented by our coordinator, Universit\u00e4t der Bundeswehr M\u00fcnchen (UniBw M), whose poster presentation attracted significant interest and created valuable connections with stakeholders sharing similar goals.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

On December 11, an interactive workshop in a World Caf\u00e9 format offered a hands-on platform for participants from research institutions, funding agencies, and political bodies. Attendees engaged in practical discussions on enhancing science-policy integration, drawing on case studies from African-European research collaborations. This collaborative approach resulted in actionable recommendations to strengthen partnerships and improve project outcomes across the regions.<\/p>

The FrontAg Nexus project\u2019s active involvement in this event underscores its dedication to advancing sustainable development and innovation through cross-regional collaboration. The insights and connections gained during the \u201cCooperation Lounge Africa-Europe\u201d will contribute to the project\u2019s ongoing efforts to support impactful research and policy engagement.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
