Recently, a strong wind swept through ElBosten Phytagri’s demonstration case area, causing significant damage to a greenhouse dedicated to pitayas. The unexpected incident prompted the team to evaluate its readiness to manage such emergencies within its budget constraints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite limited resources, ElBosten Phytagri recognises the importance of being prepared for unforeseen circumstances. While they remain committed to their project, they are assessing the damage incurred by the pitaya plantation, including structural integrity and plant health, to determine the extent of the impact.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Recovery actions in focus:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. New plastic sheeting for greenhouse: The first step in restoring the greenhouse’s functionality is the replacement of damaged plastic sheeting. This crucial component shields the plants from external elements while maintaining optimal growing conditions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Installation of shade: Restoration of the shading of the greenhouse surface helps regulate light exposure, preventing excessive heat and ensuring the well-being of the plants.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Basic structure: Strengthening the greenhouse’s basic structure is paramount to its resilience against future weather events. Structural repairs and reinforcement were essential to safeguarding the integrity of the implementation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Purchase and replacement of stakes and post cables: Investing in sturdy stakes and post cables of varying diameters provides essential support and stability to the greenhouse structure, minimizing the risk of further damage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Purchase and installation of galvanized wires: Galvanized wires with different diameters offer additional reinforcement, enhancing the durability and longevity of the greenhouse.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Cleaning and treatment: It was essential to clean the greenhouse of any debris and damaged plant material. Treating the pitaya plants with fungicide and anti-stress biostimulants can promote their recovery and resilience and ensure their health and productivity.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
