As the FrontAg Nexus project approaches completion, making its research, experiences and resources accessible to a wider audience remains an important priority. The FrontAg Nexus Knowledge Hub brings this information together in a dedicated online platform, supporting knowledge exchange and the wider use of climate-smart agricultural practices across the Mediterranean.
Available at knowledge-hub.frontagnexus.eu, the platform serves as a central repository for project-related resources, research findings and demonstration case information. It is designed for farmers, researchers, policymakers, businesses, and other stakeholders interested in sustainable agriculture and more efficient management of natural resources.
Bringing Research and Practical Knowledge Together
Throughout its implementation, FrontAg Nexus has explored agricultural technologies and approaches that address water scarcity, climate change and food-security challenges through the Water–Energy–Food–Ecosystem (WEFE) Nexus.
The Knowledge Hub helps make this work accessible through several dedicated sections:
- Demonstration Cases: Information about the project’s agricultural demonstrations, including their objectives, technologies, locations and target stakeholders.
- Learning Repository: Research publications, practice abstracts and other educational and practical resources, organised into categories such as training materials, implementation guides, policy briefs, and videos.
- News and Events: Updates on demonstration activities, project developments, and opportunities for knowledge exchange.
- Discussion Forum: A space where registered users can raise questions, exchange perspectives and discuss topics related to climate-smart agriculture and the WEFE Nexus.
By organising these resources in one place, the platform helps users find information relevant to their interests without having to navigate multiple project outputs.
Connecting Agricultural Research with Real-World Applications
An important feature of the Knowledge Hub is its connection to the FrontAg Nexus demonstration cases across the Mediterranean.
Visitors can explore different approaches to frontier agriculture, including hydroponics, aquaponics, insect farming and the integration of solar energy with agricultural production. Each demonstration case provides information about the technology being explored, its objectives and the partners involved.
The Learning Repository complements these examples with materials examining both the technical and wider challenges of sustainable agricultural innovation.
Resources such as practice abstracts and research publications address topics ranging from resource-efficient production systems to the policy and institutional conditions needed for their wider adoption.
This combination of practical examples and research-based information aims to make the project’s knowledge useful to audiences with different backgrounds and needs.
Supporting Knowledge Exchange Beyond the Project
Research projects generate valuable knowledge, but ensuring that this information remains accessible is essential for supporting its wider use.
For FrontAg Nexus, the Knowledge Hub is part of a broader effort to share project findings, encourage cooperation and support continued learning beyond the project’s implementation period.
As the project moves towards its final stages, the platform provides a dedicated space where its resources and experiences can be consulted by stakeholders working on sustainable agriculture, resource management and related policy challenges.
The Knowledge Hub also offers opportunities for further knowledge exchange, helping connect the project’s work with wider discussions on the future of agriculture in the Mediterranean.
